Mini-interview: Style Can Haz Benefits

Meet Rebecca, aka Becs, a dynamite fashion blogger who runs Style With Benefits. This blog follows her daily adventures with fashion and her incredible shoe collection! We took a minute to grab photos of her in our Infamous Sideswipe Denim.





Tinypants: Describe yourself in four words or less! I'm serious!
Becs: Creative, sarcastic, modest, daydreamer

Tinypants: When you hear the words "Love Brigade", what's the first thing that comes to mind?
Becs: An army full of love

Tinypants: How did you go from Jersey-girl become an LA transplant?

Before LA.

Becs: I definitely upped the stylish factor when I moved from (north) NJ to LA, which you can see from the photos. I bought that top at one of those cheap boutiques in The Village. Everyday LA style is laid-back chic. Even if I go out in a plain t-shirt and jeans, I’ll still thrown on a great pair of shoes. I’ve been in LA for five years now and have definitely grown as an individual and developed my own personal style. I’m more in tune with what works for me and what doesn’t, but still take risks and like to experiment and try new things.

Tinypants: Can fashion save lives?
Becs: Realistically? No. But fashion does make life and the world a little more beautiful, unpredictable, exciting and inspirational. Fashion allows you to connect with others, but at the same time, lets you express your individuality, and in a way, your personal outlook on life. Over the years, I’ve learned not to save anything for a special occasion because every day you’re alive is a special occasion.

Tinypants: Your favorite LOLcat and why?
Becs: How can you not help but smile when you see this LOLcat? He’s too cute. I’d like to think he’s referring to his dance skills and I love to dance, so this is my favorite one.

Hottie of the Moment: Santiago Quintero

Once in a while, we like to feature some eye-candy for our fans and our readers. Sometimes eye candy means beautiful boys.

You guys aren't even ready for this one ;). Meet Santiago Quintero - fixed gears, neuro-surgeon, DJ, licensed therapist, half-lawyer, fashion expert (can we say that?). Keep your eye out for him - he's usually wearing our Dangerpants (one of the best slim fit denim you'll get on your man-legs). We love Santiago, and he loves us. Give him a chance!

Love Brigade styles Izza Kizza

Izza Kizza's video for "I'm the Izza Kizza" has finally debuted! If you remember, our Ninja Assistant, Jeanette Converse, styled the music video back in December. Here's the final product!

The Aftermath: S/S 09 Launch Party @ Redeem

Over the weekend, we had the great pleasure of hosting an in-store event at Redeem with Sean, Dana, and Brittany of Wrath Arcane. We also made a new friend, Davina of Plastic Heaven. Lori, the owner of Redeem, is a kindred spirit. Her team of assistants and especially her husband are just too amazing for words. This is the kind of boutique we enjoy being in. We debuted our Spring/Summer collections and mingled with DC! Lovely town, AWESOME restaurants, and great people. Repeat visits to this thriving neighborhood are indefinite. MTV Brasil meets Love Brigade

MTV Brasil came by our retail space and studio in January and interviewed Alyssa Key, Tinypants, and Jamie Rockaway as their first featured designer for their new fashion/music/art show. The show, called IT MTV, walks the streets of NY to get the scoop on Fashion, with an F! It has a comical tone and approaches fashion with humor (just the way we like it!). We were so small compared to the team that filmed and interviewed us. We would say they were two times as tall, literally! You'll see what it looks like when Love Brigade talks to giants. Start watching at 4:55. It ends at 6:45. It is awesome.
